The ACT Outdoor Education Association (ACTOEA) is recognised as the ACT peak body representing outdoor education and outdoor recreation. It is a not-for-profit, independent incorporated organisation committed to providing members with a range of services. These services include regular newsletters, ongoing professional development, lobbying, affiliation and representation to relevant interstate and national bodies, resources and information, professional support, and the ongoing promotion of Outdoor Educators and the Outdoor Profession more generally.

Dave Pitchford Memorial Fund: On Friday 10th February, 2012, our collegaue and friend Dave Pitchford passed away after a long lasting medical condition. Dave was the 2008 winner of the 'Biner Award' for his contributions to the practice of Outdoor Education in the ACT. To help keep Dave's passion for sharing the outdoors with young people we have established this memorial fund to assist disadvantaged school students access outdoor education field trips. Thank you to Dave and his family for requesting the donations to ACTOEA. We hope that Dave's spirit will continue to wander the cliffs with school students long into the future.

Donations to this fund can be made either by EFT (email us the remittance advice) or Cheque:

EFT to account # 67-613-8421

BSB: 082-924

Cheque: made out to the ACTOEA, and posted to PO Box 98, Belconnen, ACT 2616. Please add a note to explain that it is a donation to the Dave Pitchford Memorial Fund.

Thank you for your support.

A Huge THANK YOU to all those who made the 17th National Outdoor Education Conference (17th NOEC) both possible and successful.

Who we represent

ACTOEA represents the interests of ACT and regional outdoor educators at the Outdoor Education Australia (OEA) with a flow on to the Outdoor Council of Australia (OCA). We are therefore actively involved in the continuing process of training and development and promoting the outdoor profession. ACTOEA is also actively involved in the discussion and resolution of relevant issues in the outdoor profession, such as Area Access, Professional Standards, Instructor Registration, Organisational Accreditation, and Mandatory Procedures. We are here to represent the interests of all those engaged in the outdoor profession in our region: school based outdoor educators, outdoor experiential program providers, outdoor recreation providers, and freelance outdoor leaders.
